When Disney acquired X-Men: The Animated Series from Fox’s entertainment assets, it left the show on the shelves. However, the entertainment giant has finally decided to play X-Men ‘97’ on the small screen as the series premieres on March 20 on Disney Plus. Web fans will determine the success of the newer continued version of an older series.
The original X-Men series showed students of Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters dealing with teen alienation and feeling different. The show attracted teenagers and young men with its ambitious storytelling.
The original X-Men was a five-season one. The kid’s show began in 1992. The animated version was prevalent, although it had a Saturday morning slot. The original series was one of the most watched and popular ones and impacted many. So, the launch of a continuing series has not exactly been a surprise move,
The current version of X-Men ‘97’ for web fans on a streaming service continues the narrative after the events of the 1997 finale. It has a storyline, as the main characters of X-Men have to charter new territories without their beloved Professor Charles Xavier. Beau DeMayo created the American animated series to be aired on Disney Plus, although he was unexpectedly fired in early March.
X-Men ‘’97 has a slightly higher adult tone three decades after the original. However, it maintains many of the familiar aspects of the earlier series, such as the animation style and the familiar music theme. It has started with one season and ten episodes.
