As exhibitors and attendees are Vegas bound, early January to attend what is considered to be the biggest tech event In Vegas, CES Show 2023, the nation’s largest retailer has unveiled its vision of the future of the retail grocery in the nation in a panel session on January 4. The session included a three-point approach called Customer Centricity.

According to an exclusive report in the site called progressive grocer, Walmart envisioned the future of its retail grocery industry under the following headings:
Retail Media
Accelerating AR and
Social Commerce.

Walmart said that the company is planning to leverage its Customer Centricity by focusing on retail media, augmented reality and social commerce. The company will take the help of its partners and “super-serve” American shoppers who are evolving. This will make Walmart the first choice of the customer for everything from private branded toilet paper, to chicken rotisserie to jeans.

Walmart’s first chief economist, John List said that the big box retailer was considering the use of data and economics to provide a better experience for the customer and for Walmart.

Julie Barber, EVP of General Merchandise said that they had a “very strong omni-business” and it was “growing.”

Cheryl Ainoa, SVP of New Business and Emerging Technology said that the retailer had plans to use Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) not only on purchase paths but also to power associate tools. Ainoa also declared that their Roku partnership provided Walmart with direct information. Fans are super excited.

Jill Toscano, VP of Media mentioned that the giant retailer was focusing on livestream as well as monetizing content creation using its Creator platform.

In 2022, The PG 100 or Progressive Grocer’s list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America put Walmart US at the No.1 position. With its futuristic approach, the giant retailer will look to retain its top position not only in 2023 but also for years to come.
