Nissan (NSANY) is recalling over 800,000 Vehicles because the ignition may stop working while being used.
Only the base Rogue S and the smaller Rogue Sport S versions are included in the recall. According to information Nissan sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, no solution to the issue has yet been developed. NHTSA claims that Nissan dealers will offer a free fix as soon as one is available.
Because of a key issue that might result in the ignition turning off while the vehicle is being driven, Nissan is recalling more than 809,000 compact SUVs in the United States and Canada. According to Nissan, the SUVs’ jackknife-folding keys might not stay completely open. If the key was partially folded while driving, the driver can accidentally turn off the engine by touching the key fob.
As a result, the air bags might not inflate in the event of a collision and the engine power and power brakes may be lost.
Some Rogues from the 2014 to 2020 model years are included in the recall, as well as Rogue Sports from the 2017 to 2022 model years. Owners of the recalled vehicles are advised to not attach anything to the keys that could pull them down in the interim and to place the key into the ignition so that it can only fold upward and not downward.
