NFL News: Reports: 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk issued arrest warrant for speeding

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has had a warrant issued for his arrest stemming from speeding violations, The California Post and The Athletic reported on Wednesday.

On the same day cited in the complaint against him, Aiyuk posted video on YouTube of himself speeding near Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

That incident occurred a month after the 49ers voided all guarantees in Aiyuk’s contract for failing to communicate with the organization during his rehabilitation from an injury.

After the fact, Aiyuk apologized for the incident. “Sorry yall, my car content won’t come with speeding anymore! Was praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones! My apologies.”

But on Wednesday, Aiyuk took to social media again, posting video of a sedan driving on a closed race track and saying in part, “… in they feelings!”

The 28-year-old is a former first-round pick of the 49ers (2020). He had career seasons in 2022 and 2023, surpassing 70 catches and 1,000 yards in both years. In 2024, he appeared in just seven games due to a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus, and his numbers dipped accordingly. He had just 25 receptions for 374 yards and no touchdowns.

His rehabilitation from that injury has been slow and he has not played for the 49ers since Oct. 20, 2024. In January, general manager John Lynch stated it was “safe to say” the 49ers would part with Aiyuk this offseason, but no trade partner has materialized.
