Rookie Walbert Urena allowed three hits over six innings and Wade Meckler hit a two-run homer to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-0 victory over Jacob Misiorowski and the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, Calif.

Zach Neto added an RBI single for Los Angeles, which snapped a five-game losing streak.

Urena (7-7) allowed just three singles, walked three and struck out seven while outdueling National League Cy Young frontrunner Misiorowski. He left after throwing 90 pitches, 59 for strikes. Ryan Zeferjahn struck out four and allowed two hits over 1 2/3 innings to pick up his fourth save.

Misiorowski (11-5) walked one and struck out 10. It was the 10th time he has registered double-digit strikeouts in 21 starts this season, setting a new franchise single-season record. After Meckler’s home run, he retired 16 straight batters and 17 of the last 18 hitters he faced. It was his first loss since July 2 against Cincinnati.

Jackson Chourio had two hits and a walk for Milwaukee, which finished with five hits and went 3-3 on its West Coast road trip.

After a first inning that saw both starters strike out the side on just 10 pitches, the Angels took a 2-0 lead in the second. Vaughn Grissom led off with a line-drive single to center and, one out later, Meckler drilled a 94.8 mph cutter 388 feet into the bleachers in right for his third homer.

Milwaukee didn’t have a runner reach third base until the eighth inning when reliever Sam Bachman walked David Hamilton, who moved to second on a passed ball and advanced to third one out later on an infield single by Chourio. But Zeferjahn, who took over when Bachman left with right arm fatigue, rebounded to strike out Garrett Mitchell to end the threat.

The Angels added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth against DL Hall when Denzer Guzman led off with a walk, advanced to second on a groundout, took third on a wild pitch and scored on an infield single by Neto.
