Jake Bauers blasted a two-run homer to cap a three-run third inning for the Milwaukee Brewers in a 4-1 win against the visiting Atlanta Braves on Saturday afternoon.

Brewers starter Logan Henderson (8-2) allowed one run and five hits over six innings in the second game of the three-game series. The second-year right-hander struck out four and walked two on a career-high 100 pitches.

William Contreras contributed two hits, drove in a run and scored once for the Brewers, who have won six of seven to maintain the best record in MLB (81-49).

Braves left-hander Martin Perez (8-8) was victimized by his own fielding error in the third, which led to three unearned runs. He gave up one earned run and four hits over four innings, striking out two and walking three.

Michael Harris II had two hits and an RBI for Atlanta, which has lost five of six.

Harris came up with runners on the corners and one out in the first and went the other way with a double down the third-base line, scoring Drake Baldwin for a 1-0 lead.

Henderson avoided further damage by inducing a popout from Ozzie Albies and a flyout from Mauricio Dubon.

Perez bobbled a slow roller up the first-base line by No. 9 hitter Cooper Pratt and threw late to first to start the third inning.

Pratt moved to third on a pair of groundouts before scoring on a line-drive single through the left side by Contreras to tie the game at 1.

Bauers then fouled off seven consecutive two-strike pitches before hitting the 12th pitch of the at-bat over the fence in center for a two-run homer and a 3-1 lead.

Pratt came up again in the fourth with runners on the corners and no outs. He came through with a sacrifice fly to the warning track in left to make it 4-1.

Henderson pitched around a leadoff walk to Baldwin in the third and gave up back-to-back singles to start the fourth but followed with a 4-6-3 double play.

Chad Patrick and DL Hall each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Aaron Ashby was asked to finish the ninth and allowed singles to Ozzie Albies and Mauricio Dubon to start the inning before getting a flyout and a game-ending 6-4-3 double play.
