She has picked Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, to run with her on the vice president ticket in the 2024 presidential election, which will be held this November. He is expected to be at her side during a campaign event in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Tim Walz and his wife, Gwen, will be in Philadelphia this evening. CBS obtained an email sent to campaign staffers that described Walz as “a relentless advocate for working families” and a “battle-tested leader.”
The email also said, “We’ve got 91 days, let’s go win this!”
Kamala Harris posted on social media, “I am proud to announce that I’ve asked Tim Walz to be my running mate. As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his. It’s great to have him on the team.”
Tim Walz replied to the post, describing it as “the honor of a lifetime” and said he was “all in” and more.
The famous politician, who has a folksy charm, mainly after he recently described many Republicans to be “weird” also said, “It reminds me a bit of the first day of school. So, let’s get this done, folks!”
Harris-Walz have a strong relationship, and the presidential nominee Kamala Harris, who was officially confirmed as the candidate by 99 percent of the Democrats late Monday, believes that Walz would be a good partner in the race ahead.
