Celebrity model and handbag designer Christine Baumgartner has filed for divorce from her husband of 18 years celebrity actor Kevin Costner. Costner’s representative confirmed the news and asked for privacy at this difficult time. The filing was done on Monday and the reason for the divorce was mentioned as “irrecoverable differences”, according to reports.
Kevin Costner’s representative Arnold Robinson released a statement, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” The rep also asked for privacy for the American actor, his wife Christine and their three children as they navigated through challenging times.

According to several outlets, 49-year-old Christine is asking for joint custody of the children and so is Kevin. Christine is not asking for spousal support and it appears as if the celebrity couple have a prenup that will set the terms of the divorce. This is 68-year-old Kevin Costner’s second marriage.
The Bodyguard star was earlier married to fellow college student Cindy Silva after three years of dating. They have three children: two daughters born in 1984 and 1986 and a son born in 1988.
