CWEB News can report that Tom Hardy will not return for a potential third season of the Paramount+ crime drama MobLand, following allegations of professional discord during production of the second series.
According to sources cited by Deadline, Variety, and Puck, the 48-year-old actor allegedly clashed with showrunner Jez Butterworth, producers at 101 Studios, and fellow cast members. Reports also suggest a pattern of repeated lateness to set. While The Hollywood Reporter notes that discussions remain “fluid,” and TMZ claims “the door is not totally shut,” multiple insiders indicate that Hardy’s departure is all but certain.
Representatives for Hardy, Paramount+, and 101 Studios declined to comment.
Production on the second season concluded in March 2026. Hardy has not been asked to return to set. The actor stars alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan in the series, which chronicles two rival mob families vying for power within a global crime syndicate. Hardy portrays Harry Da Souza, a resourceful fixer and family associate.
MobLand premiered in March 2025 and was renewed for a second season three months later. At the time, Butterworth—initially “reluctant to commit to television”—praised his collaborators for their “bold creative vision.”
In a previous interview, Hardy described working with Mirren and Brosnan as “wonderful” and “an absolute joy.” He also expressed a preference for the pace of television production, noting that it avoids the repetition inherent to feature filming.
