The Philadelphia Flyers went on a spending spree Wednesday, signing forward Tyson Foerster to an eight-year, $56.8 million deal and retaining goaltender Dan Vladar on a five-year, $27.5 million contract extension.
Both extensions take effect ahead of the 2027-28 season.
Foerster’s contract has an average annual value of $7.1 million. It’s $5.5 million for Vladar. Both players are entering the final season of two-year contracts they signed prior to the 2025-26 season — deals worth $7.5 million for Foerster and $6.7 million for Vladar, who arrived in Philadelphia as a free agent.
Foerster, 24, has 100 points (61 goals, 39 assists) in 195 regular-season games with Philadelphia. He added one goal in 10 playoff games,
“We’re excited to have Tyson be a key part of our long-term future,” Flyers general manager Daniel Briere said. “He has established himself as an important piece of the foundation we’re building here. Since coming up through our system, he’s continued to improve and develop every step of the way into a consistent offensive contributor while also being a trusted and reliable 200-foot player.”
The Flyers selected him in the first round, No. 23 overall, in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Vladar, 28, paid immediate dividends this past season and helped the Flyers clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2019-20. He set career highs in 2025-26 in wins (29), goals-against average (2.42), save percentage (.906), games played (52) and starts (51).
“From the moment Dan arrived in Philadelphia, he exceeded our expectations,” Briere said. “He earned this contract extension by the way he competed every time he stepped in net.
“Beyond his play on the ice, he was an exceptional addition to our locker room becoming a big leader and positive force for our group. He’s a valued teammate who really gained the trust and respect of his teammates and coaching staff right from the get-go.”
Vladar is 78-48-23 with four shutouts, a 2.81 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 157 regular-season games (146 starts) with the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames and Flyers. He was selected by the Bruins in the third round of the 2015 draft.
The Flyers also signed unrestricted free agent forward Noel Acciari to a two-year, $5.6 million contract, and forward Carl Grundstrom to a one-year, $1 million deal.
Acciari had 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists), a plus-14 rating, 25 penalty minutes, 62 blocks and 65 hits in 67 regular-season games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and one assist in six playoff games. He also won 52.0% of his face-offs.
The 34-year-old has 144 points (81 goals, 63 assists) in 585 games with five teams since 2015. He also has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 71 postseason games.
Grundstrom had 13 points (nine goals, four assists), a plus-7 rating, 19 penalty minutes, 23 blocks and 139 hits in 47 games with the Flyers, who acquired him in a trade with the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 5, 2025. He also had one assist in three playoff games.
The 28-year-old has 89 points (52 goals, 37 assists), a minus-28 rating, 127 penalty minutes, 123 blocks and 875 hits in 339 regular-season games with the Los Angeles Kings (2018-24), Sharks (2024-25) and Flyers. Grundstrom also has six points (three goals, three assists) in 20 postseason games.
