Oregon dismissed former Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden on Wednesday, hours after the transfer was arrested on three charges, including two felonies.

Holden transferred to Oregon in December after three seasons at Alabama.

“We are aware of the incident involving Traeshon Holden, and he has been dismissed from our team,” Ducks head coach Dan Lanning said in a statement. “We have high standards for the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in our football program, and we are disappointed when these standards are not met. We will continue to hold everyone in our program accountable for meeting our expectations.”

According to Lane County, Ore., jail records, Holden was arrested Wednesday morning in Eugene and charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony coercion and a misdemeanor count of menacing.

Holden caught 25 passes for 331 yards and six touchdowns for Alabama in 2022. In 2021, he recorded 21 catches for 239 yards and a score.

The 6-foot-3 Holden is a former four-star prospect.
