Colt Keith’s single capped a three-run, ninth-inning rally, allowing the Detroit Tigers to stretch their winning streak to six games with a wild 10-9 victory over the visiting Kansas City Royals on Thursday.

Riley Greene’s two-run, two-out double tied the contest. Greene then scored on Keith’s single to right off Lucas Erceg (0-1).

Greene had three hits and scored two runs, and Dillon Dingler had a two-run homer. Gleyber Torres supplied two hits, scored two runs and drove in another.

Matt Vierling and Spencer Torkelson each added two hits and an RBI. Starter Keider Montero gave up four runs on seven hits in six-plus innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Connor Seabold (1-0) got the win after allowing one run over 1 1/3 innings.

Salvador Perez hit a three-run homer among four RBIs for Kansas City, which erased a five-run deficit. Bobby Witt Jr. had three hits, scored three runs and drove in another, while Vinnie Pasquantino added a solo homer. Starter Kris Bubic gave up five runs in 4 2/3 innings, allowing six hits while walking and striking out three apiece.

Detroit scored in the bottom of the second on Torkelson’s RBI double to left. Kansas City tied it in the fourth on Carter Jensen’s RBI single.

The Tigers regained the lead in the bottom of the inning on Vierling’s RBI single.

Detroit took a 6-1 lead in the fifth. Javier Baez drew a one-out walk and scored on Torres’ double to left. Torres scored on Jahmai Jones’ single before Dingler’s team-high fourth homer.

Witt led off the sixth with his second double and scored on Perez’s sacrifice fly.

Kansas City turned things around in the seventh. Jonathan India led off with a double and scored on Jac Caglianone’s single. Lane Thomas walked and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt. Maikel Garcia knocked in Caglianone with a single, and Thomas scored on Witt’s infield hit to cut the deficit to 6-5.

Perez gave the Royals the lead with his three-run blast against Tyler Holton over the left field wall. The game was then delayed by rain.

The Tigers cut it to 8-7 in the bottom of the inning on Kevin McGonigle’s triple and Kerry Carpenter’s sacrifice fly.

Pasquantino homered with one out in the ninth.
