Reports: Nuggets add 6-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan

Six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Denver Nuggets, according to multiple reports.

DeRozan became available after the Sacramento Kings waived him earlier this offseason. He was scheduled to make $25.7 million in 2026-27, but only $10 million of that salary was guaranteed. The 37-year-old forward had also drawn interest from the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans before choosing Denver.

He remained productive in his 17th NBA season, averaging 18.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds over 77 games with the Kings while shooting 49.7% from the field. It marked the first time since 2012-13 that DeRozan failed to average at least 20 points.

Availability has also remained one of his strengths. DeRozan has appeared in at least 70 games in each of the past five seasons and has never played fewer than 60 games in a season in his career.

The reported agreement comes shortly after Denver sent restricted free agent Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a five-team sign-and-trade. The Nuggets received forward Julian Reese from Washington, an unprotected 2031 first-round pick from Cleveland and a 2032 second-round selection from Sacramento.

DeRozan ranks 16th on the NBA’s career scoring list with 26,711 points and is fourth among active players.

The former Toronto Raptors star spent his first nine seasons with the Raps before stints with the San Antonio Spurs (2018-21) and Chicago Bulls (2021-24). He joined Sacramento in 2024 and spent two seasons with the Kings before being waived.

For his career, DeRozan has averaged 21.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.0 steals across 1,264 career games (1,252 starts).
