Ketel Marte continued his torrid pace with four hits and three RBIs, Merrill Kelly threw seven sharp innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks opened a three-game road series against the San Francisco Giants with a 6-2 victory Monday afternoon.

Gabriel Moreno homered and scored twice for the Diamondbacks, who swept a three-game home series over the Giants last week.

Corbin Carroll chipped in two of Arizona’s 11 hits, as the Diamondbacks won for the eighth time in their last nine games.

A two-run double by Rafael Devers had given the Giants a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning before Arizona did the rest of the scoring, beginning with a three-run fifth against Giants starter Landen Roupp (5-5).

A throwing error by Willy Adames opened the floodgates for the Diamondbacks, as Marte doubled home Tommy Troy to tie the game. Geraldo Perdomo gave Arizona the lead for good with a one-out RBI single, and Adrian Del Castillo came through with a two-out RBI single, making it 4-2.

Roupp was pulled at the end of the fifth, charged with four runs (two earned) on seven hits. He walked one and struck out seven.

Marte was in the heart of an uprising in the sixth as well, singling home Moreno, who had led off with a walk, and Jose Fernandez, who had doubled.

Kelly (5-3) retained the 6-2 lead through his seven innings, during which he allowed just four hits and two runs. He walked two and struck out four.

Moreno’s homer, his third of the season, opened the game’s scoring in the third inning.

Marte’s four-hit day was his first of the season. He’s gone 21-for-37 (.568) in his last nine games, raising his average from .209 to .275.

The Giants totaled just five hits, four of which were doubles by Devers, Drew Gilbert, Luis Arraez and Casey Schmitt.

The loss was San Francisco’s fifth in its last seven games.
