The Miami Heat continued to fortify their roster by signing veteran center Nick Richards on Thursday.
The team did not disclose terms of contract, which ESPN reported was for one season.
The Heat announced the signing of five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson on Sunday and acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo, a two-time league MVP and 10-time All-Star, in a July trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Richards, 28, split last season between the Phoenix Suns and Chicago Bulls for a total of 48 games (six starts) and averages of 5.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 14.6 minutes while shooting 51.2% from the field.
For his career, Richards is averaging 7.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 17.6 minutes per game while shooting 62.1% on field-goal attempts for the Charlotte Hornets (2020-25), Suns (2025-26) and Bulls.
New Orleans selected Richards in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft. The Pelicans traded him the next day to the Hornets.
Miami additionally signed forwards J’Vonne Hadley and Keshad Johnson.
Hadley, a 6-foot-6 wing, started 68 of 69 games at Louisville over the past two seasons. He averaged 11.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Cardinals and shot 53.8% from the floor. Hadley started in eight Summer League games for the Heat.
Johnson was inked to a two-way contract. He spent parts of the past two seasons with the Heat, averaging 3.7 points per game in 48 contests. The Arizona product ended the 2025-26 regular season with 10- and 12-point efforts against Washington and Atlanta.
The 6-foot-6 Johnson won the 2026 NBA Slam Dunk contest.
