Celebrity actor Ray Liotta passed away last year in the Dominican Republic (DR) while shooting for the film Dangerous Waters. The 67-year-old actor had passed away in his sleep and there had been no reports of anything other than a natural death. Documents seen by a popular outlet reveal that the celebrity actor died as his lungs and heart gave out.
Documents obtained by TMZ reported that the actor’s death was categorized as “natural and nonviolent.” The causes cited in the report included respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) and acute heart failure.

The document also said that he suffered from atherosclerosis. In this condition plaque builds up in the arteries causing a thickening and this results in impaired blood flow leading to an insufficiency in oxygen in the body.
In February 2023, Ray Liotta received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was awarded posthumously, after his sudden, unexpected death. His daughter Karsen paid tribute to the “one-of-a-kind” actor, father and The Shade of Blue alum. Ray’s fiancée Jacy Nittolo was also present.
Some of his final screen performances include Fool’s Paradise, a satirical comedy by Charlie Day as well as an appearance in the viral sensation Cocaine Bear by Elizabeth Day that was his last completed movie.
Ray Liotta has been a successful actor essaying meaningful roles in movies such as Goodfellas, Field of Dreams and more. He began his career in 1983 in the movie The Lonely Lady and never looked back. In 1986 he won a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for the film Something Wild.
