Celebrity rapper Kanye West is not new to controversy. He has also faced temporary bans on social media in the past. He has once again been restricted on social media as well as had a tweet on removed after he posted about Jewish people. Kanye’s recent social media posts have seen him lose longtime friends, anger followers as well as face restrictions as he continues to post what he wants, as free speech, without considering its effects on near and dear ones as well as his fan base.

Popular social media platform Instagram, a part of the Meta group, has restricted rapper Kanye West after he posted comments that some groups have called as “anti-Jewish.” The social media platform removed the content from Ye’s Instagram page. It also placed a restriction on the rapper’s account as Kanye had violated the rules and guidelines of Instagram.

On Friday, the American Jewish Committee (AJC), which is an anti-hate group, called out the rapper for his remarks on their community and said that Ye (as he is now called) had used “anti-Semitic tropes like greed and control.” They pointed to his recent remarks when he appeared in a recent interview with host Tucker Carlson on Fox News as well as his post on Instagram.

In the interview with the news network, Kanye had said that Jared Kushner had brokered treaties of Israel with other countries in the Middle East, for monetary gains. Jared Kushner is Jewish and was responsible for what are called the Abraham Accords.

He also accused musician Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by Jewish people. Ye had a text exchange with Combs and he posted a screenshot. It had the caption, “Jesus is Jew.”

It is believed that Ye’s Instagram page was restricted after the AJC posted a video that highlighted Ye’s remarks and comments.

Early Saturday, Ye lashed out at Instagram for restricting him on the social media platform, on Twitter.
He posted a photo of him with Mark Zuckerberg.

On Saturday night, Kanye posted on Twitter that he was “going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” The social media platform removed the tweet as it said that it had violated Twitter guidelines.

Ye and people close to him have publicly spoken of his struggles with mental health issues. In 2017, he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Talented rapper and Yeezy designer Kanye West has a history of posting erratic and controversial content on social media.
