Quadruple Idaho murder suspect Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28 arrested in Pennsylvania.
According to arrest documentation filed in Monroe County Court by Pennsylvania State Police, Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, is being held without bail for extradition on charges of first-degree murder. The arrest warrant was issued by the Moscow Police Department and the Latah County Prosecutor’s Office. He was at his parents’ home and his white Elantra were seized by law enforcement. Kohberger will be charged as a fugitive of justice charges. It is now up to his attorney of he will fight extradition to Moscow, Idaho. So far we have no information if any other suspects are being considered. Due to the graphic nature of the killings, the murders seemed personal. We do not know yet if there is or was a personal relationship with the Idaho students. Motive will a question as the case continues to unfold.
The arrest came only hours after Moscow police set a news conference for Friday afternoon to discuss advancements in the stabbing murders of Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, and Xana Kernodle on Nov. 13.
Who is Christopher Kohberger? According to public records, Kohberger is a registered libertarian voter with a strong interest in criminal justice and criminology. The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University in Pullman, barely eight miles from Moscow, Idaho, lists him as a Ph.D. student. He also finished his graduate studies in criminal justice at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, this year. A former deleted Reddit post from seven months ago, Christopher Kohberger invited ex-convicts to take part in a DeSales research study to “learn how emotions and psychological features influence decision-making while committing a crime” and “understand the story behind your most recent criminal offense.”
Kohberger will be charged as a fugitive of justice charges. Hearing is set for January 3rd at 3:30 PM.
