Walmart is the nation’s largest retailer and does not rest on its laurels. It always looks at upgrades to satisfy its loyal customers and increase its footfalls with reasonable prices and good quality. It also expanded into healthcare, pet care, gas and more to give its customers a 360 degree experience. The big box retailer is adding a delicious experience in its latest upgrade. Food courts are coming to select locations of Walmart.
Walmart has started a pilot partnership to introduce food courts in some stores. The giant retailer had collaborated with entrepreneur Marc Lore, the founder of Wonder Group in 2018. The Wonder food halls will offer customers several dining options with multiple vendors operating in the same store. Some celebrity chefs will also prepare food.
The operation began with a fast-fine Wonder food hall at a store in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and will expand to stores in New Jersey and the rest of the nation. Walmart plans to open 25 store locations by the end of this year.
Quakertown Walmart, Wonder has been launched with eight restaurants. All of them operate from the same kitchen. They include:
Lime salt (Mexican)
Yasas by Michael Symon (Greek)
Alanza Pizza
Tejas Barbecue
Wing Trip
Burger Baby
Fred’s Meat and Bread (sandwiches) and
Room for Dessert.
Some web fans posted about their enjoyable experience at the Quakertown Wonder food hall. Many web fans are excited that they can fine dine and shop in Walmart in several locations by the end of 2024.
Walmart has a long and successful history of partnering with national restaurant chains. It recently partnered with a local poke chain Uncle Sharkii’s Poke Bar which will initially open in 10 locations in California and further expand to other Walmart stores nationwide.
