Pornhub has been banned from YouTube – three days after TikTok booted the company over child pornography allegations
The Google-owned company said it terminated the channel, which was used as a marketing tool, due to’multiple violations’ of its community guidelines by linking to sites that host content that is not permitted.
Pornhub’s parent company, MindGeek, is not taking the removal lightly and ‘vehemently denied’ YouTube’s claims that it linked to porn sites.
YouTube has removed Pornhub’s channel over “multiple” community guideline violations, as first reported by Variety. Pornhub’s account, according to Google, violated YouTube’s external link policy, which prohibits users from linking to content that is not permitted on the platform, such as pornography.
Pornhub encouraged Instagram users to leave the platform in order to view adult content. Pornhub responded to the ban with an open letter in which it criticizes Instagram for removing its “fully PG” account while other creators continue to post “nudity and overt sexuality with no repercussions.”
Pressure on Pornhub and its Luxembourg-based parent company MindGeek is increasing, with some accusing the site of failing to moderate content and allowing videos containing child abuse material and non-consenting subjects to surface. These concerns prompted Pornhub CEO Feras Antoon and COO David Tassillo to resign, and they also harmed Pornhub’s relationships with other companies. In 2020,
TikTok, like the other social media platforms, joined the movement.
TikTok stated that the termination was due to allegations that Pornhub profited without consent from content involving children and others.
Pornhub has been permanently banned from Instagram by Meta for repeatedly violating’ its policies on nudity, adult content, and sexual solicitation.
Additionally, the judge makes decisions. After a woman sued over a sexually explicit video posted online when she was 13, Visa did facilitate the distribution of child porn by failing to prohibit payments on Pornhub.
