The Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers will face off in next season’s Mexico City game at the Arena CDMX on Saturday, Nov. 7, the NBA announced Thursday.
The game will be the league’s 35th played in Mexico since 1992. For the third straight year, it will be played during the week of Mexico’s annual Dia de Muertos holiday, with a themed basketball court to celebrate the holiday.
“The NBA Mexico City Game continues to give fans in Mexico a front-row connection to the league, its teams and its players,” NBA Latin America and Canada senior vice president and head of operations Raul Zarraga said in a statement. “Hosting our 35th game in the country reflects the depth of the NBA’s relationship with Mexico and the role this event plays in bringing the global game to fans locally, across Latin America and around the world.”
Denver will be playing its first regular-season game in Mexico and its second game overall after a preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors in Monterrey on Oct. 14, 2006.
Indiana will be playing its first game in Mexico but its fourth international game, recently splitting a pair of games in Paris with the San Antonio Spurs last season.
The Pacers also lost 140-112 to the Nuggets in London on Jan. 12, 2017.
