Dylan Moore hit a two-run homer and Cal Raleigh hit a two-run double as the visiting Seattle Mariners defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 on Friday.

Julio Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a run for the Mariners (72-70), who have won their past three games by the combined score of 28-8.

Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller (11-8) allowed just three hits in six scoreless innings. He struck out four and walked two.

Jordan Walker hit a homer for the Cardinals (71-70), who suffered just their third loss in their past nine games.

St. Louis starting pitcher Erick Fedde (8-9) allowed one run on five hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. He needed 95 pitches to get the 14 outs.

Both teams threatened in the first inning. Rodriguez hit a one-out single, then he stole second base with two outs. Randy Arozarena grounded out to strand him.

In the bottom of the frame, Alec Burleson had a one-out walk and went to third on Nolan Arenado’s two-out single. But Brendan Donovan hit an inning-ending groundout.

Fedde escaped trouble again in the second inning. Justin Turner hit a one-out double and J.P. Crawford walked before Fedde retired the next two batters.

With two outs in the third inning, Fedde walked Raleigh and allowed Arozarena’s single before Luke Raley grounded out.

Seattle took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning. Victor Robles was hit by a pitch, Rodriguez hit a single, Raleigh walked, and Arozarena hit a sacrifice fly.

The Mariners made it 3-0 in the sixth inning when Crawford hit a single and Moore followed with his homer.

Walker’s homer in the seventh inning cut the Cardinals’ deficit to 3-1.

Seattle boosted its lead to 6-1 in the ninth inning. Mitch Haniger hit a leadoff single, took second on a wild pitch, and went to third on Rodriguez’s single.

Raleigh hit his two-run double and Raley followed with an RBI single.
