Brice Turang snapped an 0-for-21 skid with a double and two-run triple to ignite Milwaukee’s 18-hit attack as the Brewers pounded out a 16-2 victory over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Monday.

Christian Yelich and David Hamilton each had three hits and three runs for the Brewers in the opener of a four-game series. Jackson Chourio added two hits and three RBIs as Milwaukee won for the sixth time in seven games.

Turang doubled in the first to snap his skid, and he also walked twice. Five Brewers drove in two runs apiece.

Matt Chapman hit a two-run homer to account for all of the scoring by San Francisco, which has lost six of its past seven games.

Milwaukee erased a 2-0 deficit with seven runs in the second off Landen Roupp. Jake Bauers walked to open the frame on an overturned third strike call. He scored on Sal Frelick’s one-out double to right-center, narrowly beating the throw home with a headfirst slide. Luis Rengifo tied the game with an RBI single.

Hamilton beat out a bunt single and Yelich walked to load the bases. Chourio followed with a two-run double into the right field corner to make it 4-2. Turang tripled in two runs and then scored on William Contreras’ sacrifice fly.

The Brewers loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth but settled for one run on Contreras’ double-play grounder.

Chad Patrick (3-2) got the win with one scoreless inning in relief of Shane Drohan, who allowed two runs on four hits in four innings in a spot start after 10 consecutive relief appearances.

San Francisco, which had 25 hits in a 19-6 win at Colorado on Sunday, managed just five hits.

Roupp (5-6) allowed eight runs on eight hits in four innings, walking five and striking out four. Wilkin Ramos, called up earlier Monday from Triple-A Sacramento, entered in relief for his major league debut. He gave up two runs, on Andrew Vaughn’s bases-loaded single in the sixth, in his two-inning outing.

The Brewers made it 12-2 with two runs in the seventh off Matt Gage on a leadoff walk and three consecutive singles.

San Francisco infielder Buddy Kennedy, also called up from Triple-A on Monday, pitched the eighth inning and gave up four runs.

Chapman staked San Francisco to a 2-0 lead in the second with his second homer, a two-run shot off Drohan.
