DOTA News: Spirit, Falcons remain unbeaten atop Group A at DreamLeague 29

Team Falcons and Team Spirit each won twice via sweeps on Friday to remain unbeaten and share first place in Group A at the DreamLeague Season 29 event.

Team Falcons and Team Spirit both improved to 5-0. Aurora Gaming also swept both of their matches for their first two victories after an 0-3 start, while Team Liquid and Vici Gaming went 1-1 on Friday.

In Group B, PARIVISION swept their lone match to improve to 4-0 and bump Natus Vincere to 3-1. REKONIX and Nigma Galaxy swept their way to their first wins after 0-3 starts, while BetBoom Team won to improve to 2-2.

The $1 million Dota 2 event is beginning with the 16 teams divided into two groups for round-robin play. The top four teams in each group earn spots in the upper bracket for the double-elimination playoffs, while the fifth- and sixth-place teams will start the playoffs in the lower bracket.

All matches through the event are best-of-three until the final on May 24, which will be best-of-five. The championship team will receive $250,000 in player prize money, a club bonus of $40,000 and a minimum of 6,000 ESL Pro Tour points.

On Friday, Team Falcons posted won in 49 minutes on red and in 56 minutes on green to sweep Vici Gaming. Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak of Russia led Team Falcons with an 18-4-34 kill-death-assist ratio. Zhang “y'” Yiping of China registered an 11-16-24 K-D-A ratio for Vici Gaming.

Against Team Liquid, Team Falcons once again pulled off a sweep with 51- and 33-minute victories on green. Slovakia’s Oliver “skiter” Lepko posted a 26-3-22 K-D-A ratio to lead the winners. Michael “miCKe” Vu of Sweden had a K-D-A ratio of 9-13-18 for Team Liquid.

Team Spirit opened with a 65-win on green, then earned the sweep of GamerLegion with a 34-minute triumph on red. Ukraine’s Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk delivered a 16-10-30 K-D-A ratio for Team Spirit, while Francis “RCY” Fundemera, an American/Filipino player, posted a 19-10-22 K-D-A ratio for GamerLegion.

In its other match of the day, Team Spirit swept Virtus.pro in 46 minutes on green and 44 minutes on red, led by Yatoro with a 26-6-32 K-D-A ratio. Abed “Abed” Yusop of the Philippines guided Virtus.pro with a K-D-A ratio of 12-18-15.

Aurora Gaming swept ex-HEROIC with a 39-minute win on green and a 54-minute victory on red. Rafli “Mikoto” Fathur Rahman of Indonesia led Aurora with a 26-3-36 K-D-A ratio. For ex-HEROIC, Yuma “Yuma” Langlet, a Nicaraguan/Belgian/German player, posted a K-D-A ratio of 19-7-14.

With wins of 54 minutes and 32 minutes on green, Aurora Gaming swept GamerLegion as Chung “Ws” Wei Shen of Malaysia delivered a 18-7-25 K-D-A ratio. RCY posted a K-D-A ratio of 19-6-17 for GamerLegion.

In other Group A action, Team Liquid swept Virtus.pro and Vici Gaming followed suit against ex-HEROIC.

In Group B, PARIVISION swept Natus Vincere, Nigma Galaxy blanked Xtreme Gaming, REKONIX shut out Tundra Esports and BetBoom Team got past PlayTime 2-1.
