Zeke Mayo scored 25 points as No. 8 Kansas defeated Brown 87-53 on Sunday afternoon at Lawrence, Kan.

Mayo was 5-of-8 from 3-point range to deliver his 25 points, one game after he scored 26 against North Carolina State.

The Jayhawks outscored the Bears 45-22 in the second half while winning 21 straight nonconference games at home

Kansas (9-2) had three players in double figures, with three others within a bucket of that total. Hunter Dickinson had 15 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Jayhawks, while KJ Adams added 10 points.

The Jayhawks shot 50 percent from the field (34 of 68) and outrebounded the Bears 50-40.

Kino Lilly Jr. scored 18 points for Brown (7-4), which saw its six-game winning streak come to an end. The Bears missed 20 of their last 23 attempts from 3-point range and finished 8-of-33 (24.2 percent) from distance.

Brown shot just 26.7 percent (20 of 75) overall from the field.

Kansas used a 13-0 run early in the second half to take a 55-34 lead and never looked back. Brown made just one basket in 17 attempts over a lengthy stretch as Kansas pulled away.

Mayo keyed a fast start by the Jayhawks. He hit double figures in points at the 15:10 remaining in the first half with a layup that put the Jayhawks up 14-7.

Brown kept it close early with long-range shooting. A 3-pointer by Jenkins with 8:29 left in the first half tied the score 24-all. The Bears hit five of their first 10 attempts from distance, but they missed their last seven in the opening half

The Jayhawks scored the last six points of the first half for their largest lead before the break at 42-31.

Mayo led Kansas with 15 points in the first half, while Dickinson had eight points and seven rebounds. Brown was led by Lilly with 10 points.
