Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova took down top-seeded Magda Linette of Poland 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 16 at the Internationaux de Strasbourg in Strasbourg, France, on Wednesday.

Pavlyuchenkova broke Linette’s serve five times and faced just two breaks herself, saving one, to advance to the quarterfinals.

Pavlyuchenkova, from Russia, faces No. 7 seed Lauren Davis, a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 winner over Viktoriya Tomova in a two-hour match.

Sixth-seeded Varvara Gracheva of Russia was a straight-sets winner over Selena Janicijevic of France and Elina Svitolina advanced to the quarters in a walkover when New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe withdrew due to an abdominal injury.
