Top-seeded Jessica Pegula and eighth-seeded Amanda Anisimova won all-U.S. matches on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Credit One Charleston (S.C.) Open.

Pegula started slowly but rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win over seventh-seeded Danielle Collins. Anisimova prevailed 7-5, 7-6 (1) against fourth-seeded Emma Navarro.

A third U.S. player made it to the semifinals, as Sofia Kenin got past 14th-seedeed Anna Kalinskaya of Russia 6-4, 6-3. Kenin will face off with Anisimova on Saturday.

Pegula’s next foe will be ninth-seeded Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, who downed third-seeded Qinwen Zheng of China 6-1, 6-4.

Copa Colsanitas Zurich

In a matchup of the winners of the past four editions of the Bogota, Colombia, event, second-seeded Colombian Camila Osorio toppled sixth-seeded German Tatjana Maria 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

Osorio, the defending champion, also won the event in 2021. Maria captured the Bogota title in 2022 and 2023. In Friday’s match, Osorio won 75 percent of her first-serve points while Maria was at 45 percent.

In the semifinals, Osorio will face off with Argentina’s Julia Riera, who eliminated Croatia’s Lea Boskovic 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

On the other side of the bracket, Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa upset top-seeded Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic 5-7, 6-1, 7-5. Kawa, 32, has been to just one WTA Tour final, in 2019 at Jurmala, Latvia. Her next opponent will be the United States’ Julieta Pareja, who defeated France’s Leolia Jeanjean 7-6 (5), 6-3.
