Sixteen-year-old Czech wild card Laura Samson reached the semifinals of the Livesport Prague Open with a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win Wednesday against Russia’s Oksana Selekhmeteva.

A former junior No. 1 competing in her first WTA tournament, Samson survived the 2-hour, 41-minute match and will face No. 6 seed Magdalena Frech of Poland in the semis. Frech also rallied, taking out No. 3 Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

The other semifinal at the WTA 250 clay-court event pits top-seeded Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic against No. 4 Magda Linette of Poland. Noskova defeated Germany’s Ella Seidel 6-1, 6-3 and Linette outlasted No. 5 seed Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

UniCredit Iasi Open

Top-seeded Mirra Andreeva of Russia rolled into the semifinals in Iasi, Romania, with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Croatia’s Lea Boskovic in 69 minutes.

The 17-year-old Andreeva never faced a break point and converted five of her six break chances to set up a match against Serbia’s Olga Danilovic. Danilovic upset No. 8 seed Anna Bondar of Hungary 7-5, 6-2 in the quarterfinal.

Unseeded Chloe Paquet rallied to reach the WTA 25 clay-court semifinals with an 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory over French compatriot Selena Janicijevic. Paquet awaits the winner between No. 3 seed Jaqueline Cristian of Romania or No. 5 Elina Avanesyan of Russia.
