Venus Williams’ 2025 U.S. Open will continue — in women’s doubles.

The 45-year-old Williams and her playing partner, 22-year-old Canadian Leylah Fernandez, received a wild-card entry into the draw, which was announced on Tuesday.

Perhaps the two discussed the possibility last month in Washington, where an unseeded Fernandez captured the Mubadala Citi DC Open singles title and Williams earned a pair of wins, in doubles with Hayley Baptiste and in singles over Peyton Stearns.

Williams and sister Serena won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, including a pair (1999, 2009) at the U.S. Open.

Williams and Fernandez will take on the sixth-seeded team of Lyudmyla Kichenok of Ukraine and Ellen Perez of Australia.

Czechia’s Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend are the top-seeded team.
