Winning an all-Belarus matchup, top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka got past sixth-seeded Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 6-4 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Mubadala City DC Open in Washington.

Sabalenka had an 8-1 edge in aces and she picked on Azarenka’s second serve, winning 18 of 22 points (81.8 percent).

Sabalenka’s semifinal opponent will be the Czech Republic’s Marie Bouzkova, who ousted 19-year-old Washington native Robin Montgomery 6-3, 6-1. Bouzkova converted all five of her break opportunities while saving four of the five break points on her serve.

The other semifinal will feature the United States’ Caroline Dolehide and Spain’s Paula Badosa. Dolehide won an all-U.S. showdown against Amanda Anisimova 7-6 (5), 6-1, while Badosa rallied to beat Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
