Olivia Miles and Marta Suarez each recorded a triple-double as No. 9 TCU demolished Arkansas-Pine Bluff 109-54 in a nonconference game on Tuesday in Fort Worth, Texas.
Miles amassed 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for her third consecutive triple-double. Suarez logged 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as the Horned Frogs (12-0) reached triple-digit scoring for the second time this season.
Donovyn Hunter added 18 points for the TCU, while Clara Silva scored 14 and Taylor Bigby had 10. The Horned Frogs scored the game’s first eight points and led 27-5 after one quarter to spark the blowout.
Indiya Bowen paced the Golden Lions (3-6) with 18 points. Jailah Pelly put up 17 points, and Jayla Cornelius chipped in with 13.
No. 4 UCLA 115, Cal Poly 28
Kiki Rice scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Bruins blitzed the Mustangs in Los Angeles.
Lauren Betts produced 20 points and 10 boards for UCLA (10-1), which won its fourth game in a row. Gianna Kneepkens put up 19 points, Charlisse Leger-Walker added 14 points and seven assists, and Gabriela Jaquez also scored 14.
Charish Thompson and Katie Peiffer each scored eight points for Cal Poly (2-8). The Mustangs made just 27.5% of their field-goal attempts and committed 31 turnovers. The Bruins shot 57.5% from the floor.
No. 5 LSU 91, Morgan State 33
The Tigers nearly tripled the offensive output of the Lady Bears in front of a spirited crowd including thousands of schoolchildren from the Baton Rouge, La., area.
Mikaylah Williams and Flau’jae Johnson led the Tigers with 14 points apiece, with Johnson adding four rebounds and two steals. MiLaysia Fulwiley notched 11 points, and Jada Richard and Grace Knox added 10 points apiece.
Tigers coach Kim Mulkey switched up her starting lineup again, putting freshman ZaKiyah Johnson and senior East Carolina transfer Amiya Joyner in the two starting frontcourt spots. They responded by combining for 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Ja’la Bannerman and Michaela Bogans led Morgan State (1-12) with eight points apiece.
