Sara Bejedi scored 23 points to help No. 21 Florida State get a 70-62 victory over No. 20 North Carolina on Thursday night in Tallahassee, Fla.
Florida State (13-4, 4-1 ACC) also got 11 points and 14 rebounds from Makayla Timpson and 12 points from Omariah Gordon. Ta’Niya Latson had eight points and five assists before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent lower-body injury.
North Carolina (11-5, 3-1 ACC) saw its five-game winning streak snapped. Deja Kelly powered the Tar Heels with 23 points before fouling out, and Indya Nivar chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
FSU never trailed and led by as many as 21 points. UNC cut the deficit to three points with 1:41 to play after a free throw by Anya Poole, but then FSU ended the game on a 5-0 run. The Tar Heels made just three 3-pointers while the Seminoles knocked down 10.
No. 1 South Carolina 81, Missouri 57
Bree Hall scored a career-best 21 points as the Gamecocks got a road win over the Tigers in Columbia, Mo.
Te-Hina Paopao added 15 points for South Carolina (15-0, 3-0 SEC), while Ashlyn Watkins, Sania Feagin and Raven Johnson each scored 10. For Missouri (9-7, 0-3 SEC), Ashton Judd and Hayley Frank both notched 16 points.
After a tight opening frame, South Carolina pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring the Tigers 25-15. The Gamecocks shot sharply, knocking down 51.6 percent of their field goals and 53.3 percent of their 3-pointers. South Carolina also outscored Missouri 44-18 in the paint.
No. 6 N.C. State 93, Virginia 66
Zoe Brooks scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Wolfpack over the Cavaliers in Raleigh, N.C.
It was a bounce-back win for N.C. State (15-1, 3-1 ACC), which suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday at Virginia Tech. Madison Hayes added 17 points for the Wolfpack, while Mimi Collins pitched in 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Camryn Taylor powered Virginia (8-7, 0-4 ACC) with 22 points and six rebounds.
Laci Steele was crucial for N.C. State in the second quarter, scoring 11 of her 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting to help the Wolfpack take a 23-point lead into halftime.
N.C. State outscored Virginia 36-14 on fast breaks and turned 16 turnovers by the Cavaliers into 23 points.
No. 7 LSU 87, Texas A&M 70
Angel Reese tallied 20 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Tigers over the visiting Aggies in Baton Rouge, La.
LSU (16-1, 3-0 SEC) also got 21 points and eight boards from Aneesah Morrow, 16 points from Mikaylah Williams and 14 points and four assists from Hailey Van Lith.
Endyia Rogers powered Texas A&M (13-3, 1-2) with a season-best 27 points, while Lauren Ware added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Texas A&M led by four points early, but then LSU closed the opening frame with a 22-10 run. The Tigers then increased their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Aggies 24-12. LSU made 54.5 percent of its 3-pointers while holding the Aggies to 18.2 percent.
No. 11 Virginia Tech 76, Miami 52
Elizabeth Kitley had 31 points and 11 rebounds to help the Hokies top the Hurricanes in Blacksburg, Va.
Georgia Amoore added 16 points for Virginia Tech (13-2, 4-0 ACC) while Matilda Ekh chipped in 12 points. Shayeann Day-Wilson scored 19 points for Miami (11-4, 1-3).
After an even first quarter, Virginia Tech pulled away in the second, outscoring Miami 26-10. Key for the Hokies was their sharp shooting, as they knocked down nine 3-pointers and 19 free throws.
Virginia Tech plays at No. 21 Florida State on Sunday.
No. 15 Louisville 74, Pitt 44
Sydney Taylor scored 13 points as the Cardinals raced away from the host Panthers in Pittsburgh.
Louisville (14-2, 3-0 ACC) also got 10 points apiece from Kiki Jefferson and Olivia Cochran.
Jala Jordan led Pitt (6-11, 0-4) with 11 points in the fourth straight loss for the Panthers.
Louisville never trailed as it shot 52.6 percent and scored 34 points off 24 Pitt turnovers.
No. 16 Gonzaga 87, Santa Clara 49
Yvonne Ejim scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a victory over the visiting Broncos in Spokane, Wash.
Ejim shot a perfect 7 of 7 from the floor and also had four assists, four rebounds and three steals for Gonzaga (15-2, 2-0 WCC). Eliza Hollingsworth added 18 points for the Bulldogs, and Kayleigh Truong had 13 points.
Tess Heal led Santa Clara (13-4, 1-1 WCC) with 10 points.
Gonzaga went on to lead by 44 points as it shot 59.6 percent and outscored the Broncos 40-20 in the paint.
No. 17 Ohio State 90, Rutgers 55
Madison Greene scored 16 points off the bench to help the Buckeyes beat the visiting Scarlet Knights in Columbus, Ohio.
Jacy Sheldon added 11 points and eight steals for Ohio State (12-3, 3-1 Big Ten) while Celeste Taylor had 12 points and four assists.
Destiny Adams paced Rutgers (6-12, 0-5) with 18 points and seven rebounds.
After trailing by two points early, the Buckeyes pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Rutgers 24-9. Ohio State went on to lead by 42 points. The Buckeyes turned 28 Rutgers turnovers into 36 points.
No. 18 Notre Dame 98, Boston College 48
Hannah Hidalgo amassed 27 points and 10 rebounds as the Irish bounced back from a loss to beat the Eagles in South Bend, Ind.
After missing Sunday’s loss to North Carolina, Maddy Westbeld returned to the lineup for Notre Dame (11-3, 2-2 ACC) and collected 15 points and 15 rebounds. Kylee Watson, Anna DeWolfe and Sonia Citron each scored 11 points, while KK Bransford had 13 points and six boards off the bench.
Boston College (9-8, 1-3) was led by Dontavia Waggoner’s 12 points and six rebounds.
Notre Dame won the rebounding battle 55-30 and outscored Boston College 54-34 in the paint.
