Joyce Edwards scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds for No. 2 South Carolina, which finally pulled away in the fourth quarter of a 65-37 nonconference win over Clemson on Tuesday in Columbia, S.C.

The Gamecocks (3-0) led by just 10 points entering the fourth quarter. South Carolina’s Agot Makeer opened the final period with a 3-pointer that sparked a 10-0 run. Madina Okot’s layup capped the spree and gave the Gamecocks a 55-35 lead with 5:54 to go, and the Gamecocks wound up outscoring the Tigers 20-2 in the fourth.

South Carolina’s Tessa Johnson finished with 13 points, while Okot produced 12 points and 12 rebounds. Ta’Niya Latson also logged 12 points.

Taylor Johnson-Matthews topped the Tigers (2-1) with nine points. Clemson shot just 23% from the floor and 15.2% (5 of 33) from 3-point range.

No. 10 North Carolina State 66, Maine 47

Khamil Pierre’s third consecutive double-double paced the Wolfpack to a victory over the Black Bears in Raleigh, N.C.

Pierre amassed 18 points and 10 rebounds for NC State (2-1). Zoe Brooks added 14 points and nine boards, while Zamareya Jones posted 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Asta Blauenfeldt scored 16 points for Maine (0-2), which was limited to 29% shooting from the floor. Adrianna Smith chipped in with 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

No. 20 Oklahoma State 105, Prairie View A&M 55

Micah Gray scored 25 points and the Cowgirls never trailed in a romp against the Lady Panthers in Stillwater, Okla.

Haleigh Timmer tallied 20 points and Achol Akot added 15 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals as Oklahoma State (5-0) topped the century mark for the fourth time this season. The Cowgirls converted 29 turnovers by Prairie View A&M into 35 points and compiled a decisive 40-7 edge in fastbreak points.

Alana Shields scored 16 points to pace Prairie View A&M (0-3), which trailed 49-15 at halftime. CJ Wilson chipped in 12 points and Crystal Schultz had 10.
