Talia von Oelhoffen drilled a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the top of the key, capping a wild finish as No. 11 Oregon State edged No. 9 UCLA 79-77 on Friday in Corvallis, Ore.
The lead changed hands four times in the final eight seconds.
A 3-pointer from Angela Dugalic put UCLA up 75-74 with eight seconds to go. von Oelhoffen hit a layup with 2.3 seconds left to give Oregon State a one-point edge, but Lauren Betts replied with a jumper that lifted the Bruins to a 77-75 lead with 1.1 seconds left.
von Oelhoffen then came open on the inbounds pass and drilled the winner.
Earlier, von Oelhoffen hit two free throws as the Beavers (21-3, 10-3 Pac-12) tied up the game 72-72 with 1:03 remaining. Oregon State went on top 74-72 on two free throws from Timea Gardiner with 15 seconds to go.
von Oelhoffen scored 22, Gardiner had 21 and Dominika Paurova added 12 for Oregon State, which won its sixth game in a row. UCLA (19-5, 8-5) got 24 points from Betts, 13 from Charisma Osborne, 11 from Kiki Rice and 10 from Dugalic.
No. 15 UConn 85, Georgetown 44
The Huskies got a pair of big wins in Storrs, Conn.
First, UConn thrashed Georgetown. Then, postgame in senior night ceremonies, Paige Bueckers announced that she will return to play one more season for UConn.
In the game, senior Aaliyah Edwards led the Huskies with 26 points, 16 rebounds and four steals. Bueckers produced 21 points, eight assists and three steals and Ice Brady scored 10 points off the bench for UConn (22-5, 14-0 Big East).
The Huskies opened up a 27-9 lead after the first quarter and did not let off the gas. They outrebounded Georgetown 45-28, including 16-9 on the offensive glass, and scored 27 points off 22 Hoyas turnovers.
Victoria Rivera had a team-high 16 points for the Hoyas (16-10, 6-9).
No. 3 Stanford 84, Cal 49
Kiki Iriafen scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the host Cardinal routed the Golden Bears.
Cameron Brink and Hannah Jump each added 14 points and Elena Bosgana put up 12 for Stanford (23-3, 12-2 Pac-12), which earned its fourth win in a row. The Cardinal outshot Cal 55.2 percent to 32.1 percent from the floor and had a 15-6 edge in made free throws.
Ugonne Onyiah scored 12 points and Kemery Martin had 11 for the Golden Bears (15-11, 5-9), who had won their previous two games.
No. 22 Utah 77, No. 8 Colorado 76
Dasia Young drove into the lane and sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer as the Utes beat the Buffaloes in Salt Lake City.
Utah (19-7, 9-5 Pac-12) led by 13 points with eight minutes to play before Colorado rallied. The Buffaloes (20-5, 10-4) pulled in front on a layup from Frida Formann with 19 seconds left. Ines Vieira responded by making two free throws, but Colorado went back in front on Aaronette Vonleh’s layup with eight seconds to go.
Utah got 18 points from Alissa Pili, 16 from Vieira, 14 from Jenna Johnson and 13 from Dasia Young. Vieira added eight rebounds and seven assists.
Formann and Jaylynn Sherrod each had 15 points for Colorado, while Vohleh had 14. Sherrod dished out a game-high nine assists.
No. 10 Southern California 88, Oregon 51
Freshman JuJu Watkins topped 30 points for the third game in a row, finishing with 33 as the Trojans demolished the Ducks in Eugene, Ore.
Watkins hit 12 of 25 shots from the floor and added eight rebounds and four steals for USC (19-4, 9-4 Pac-12). McKenzie Forbes contributed 12 points and Kaitlyn Davis added 10 for the Trojans, who led 29-7 after one quarter and coasted to their fifth consecutive win.
Oregon (11-15, 2-11) got 12 points from Chance Gray, 11 from Grace VanSlooten and 10 from Phillipina Kyei, but it wasn’t enough to prevent an eighth straight loss.
No. 20 Creighton 71, St. John’s 51
Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly scored 20 points apiece, Emma Ronsiek had 14 and the Bluejays blew past the Red Storm in New York.
Creighton (21-3, 12-2 Big East) shot 57.7 percent from the floor (30 of 52), its second-best mark of the season and its best in conference play. Maly added seven rebounds, while Molly Mogensen tallied nine points, eight assists and five rebounds. The Bluejays have won 11 straight games entering a Monday visit to UConn.
Ber’Nyah Mayo led St. John’s (15-12, 9-6) with 16 points and five steals and Jillian Archer paired 11 points with a team-high six rebounds. St. John’s has lost three of four.
No. 25 Princeton 74, Brown 62
Kaitlyn Chen put up 17 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds to guide the Tigers past the Bears in Providence, R.I.
Ashley Chea scored 12 points off the bench and Chet Nweke added 11 points and nine rebounds to help Princeton (19-3, 9-0 Ivy League) earn its 14th straight win. The Tigers trailed by as many as seven points during the third quarter but opened the fourth quarter on an 8-1 run to pull away.
Grace Arnolie had 18 points and five assists to pace Brown (13-9, 4-5). Kyla Jones added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Olivia Young posted 11 points and seven rebounds.
