The Gamecocks play their final nonconference game at East Carolina on Dec. 30 before opening Southeastern Conference play on Jan. 4 at Florida.

The Falcons travel to face No. 16 Indiana on Friday, then start Mid-American Conference action on Jan. 3 at Central Michigan.

No. 24 North Carolina 61, Oklahoma 52

The Tar Heels committed a season-high 23 turnovers and shot 20 percent from 3-point range, but they still emerged with a win over the Sooners in the Jumpman Invitational at Charlotte.

Deja Kelly scored 21 points and Alyssa Ustby added 15 points and 13 rebounds for North Carolina (8-4), which won its second game in a row. Lexi Donarski finished with 10 points.

Payton Verhulst paced Oklahoma (6-4) with 15 points, and Skylar Vann compiled 10 points and 12 rebounds.

While North Carolina hit just 3 of 15 3-point attempts, Oklahoma was a miserable 1 of 26 from beyond the arc. The Sooners also struggled with their shooting overall, ending up at 26.4 percent from the floor.
