Caitlin Clark continued her climb up the NCAA’s all-time scoring ladder Tuesday night and No. 2 Iowa maintained its perfect Big Ten record with a 96-50 rout of Wisconsin in Iowa City.
Clark finished with a game-high 32 points, passing Brittney Griner for fourth on the all-time list when she sank a free throw with 7:02 left in the second quarter. Clark now has 3,306 career points, moving her ahead of ex-Baylor star Griner and leaving her 87 behind ex-Missouri State star Jackie Stiles for third.
The top two on the list are Kelsey Plum (3,527 for Washington) and Kelsey Mitchell (3,402 for Ohio State).
Kate Martin added 16 points for Iowa (18-1, 7-0 Big Ten), which shot 15 of 37 from 3-point range en route to its 15th consecutive win.
Serah Williams scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Wisconsin (8-9, 1-6). The Badgers lost for the fifth time in six games, hitting just 4 of 20 3-point attempts.
No. 11 Texas 91, Kansas 56
Aaliyah Moore scored 17 points and Madison Booker added 15 as the Longhorns cruised past the Jayhawks in Austin, Texas.
Texas (17-2, 4-2 Big 12) opened a 47-26 halftime edge and eventually went up by as many as 38 points. Khadija Faye added 14 points and eight rebounds and Shaylee Gonzales contributed 12 points for the Longhorns, who bounced back after losing 61-58 at then-No. 12 Kansas State on Saturday.
S’Mya Nichols led the Jayhawks (9-8, 2-4) with 14 points and five assists, while Zakiyah Franklin scored 11 points. Kansas had won its previous two contests, including a victory over then-No. 4 Baylor last Wednesday.
Texas connected on 59 percent of its field-goal attempts, including 7 of 11 3-point tries, and converted 22 Kansas turnovers into 30 points. The Jayhawks shot 33.3 percent from the floor and made only 1 of 13 3-point attempts.
