According to Palm Beach Police, a 66-year-old woman drove her Rolls-Royce sedan through a seawall and a garden on Canterbury Lane before coming to rest on the beach. She also reportedly destroyed a monument that cost $3 million, the homeowner said.
Palm Beach Fire Rescue took the town resident driver out of the car so they could examine him medically, according to the police. The woman reportedly told police that she had no memory of the hours preceding the collision. Police reported that the woman did not seem to be inebriated. Just after six o’clock on Friday, video footage captured the motorist pulling into the driveway on Canterbury Lane and heading east.

She continued driving east until she collided with the driveway’s north curb. The car then stopped, resumed traveling east, and struck the sculpture, according to the report. The vehicle then allegedly slammed into a landscape fence, a seawall, and a beach, according to authorities.
According to the report, the car’s final resting place was a 5-foot-high seawall hanging nose down to the ground, on the sand, and the back on top. In the images released by the Palm Beach Police, the car’s nose is seen buried in the sand. The woman, a local resident, was taken to St Mary’s Medical Center for evaluation despite not seeming to be intoxicated, according to police. The Rolls-Royce was later towed from the beach and no injuries were reported. Police have not revealed whether she had been charged.
