Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards returned for the second half after sustaining an apparent ankle injury during Minnesota’s 105-90 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday in New York.
With 3:54 left in the second quarter, Edwards drilled a 3-pointer in the corner. When backing up, he tumbled over Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez on the sideline. He immediately went to the locker room.
Edwards came back after intermission and scored 13 points to finish with a team-high 28 points to carry the Timberwolves to their fourth straight victory. Edwards also chipped in five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Edwards leads the Timberwolves with an average of 27.3 points per game. Minnesota is in a four-team battle for the sixth seed in the Western Conference to avoid the play-in tournament.
