Seattle Storm forward Nneka Ogwumike was named to her 10th WNBA All-Star Game when the starters were announced Monday afternoon.

Ogwumike tied Tamika Catchings and Brittney Griner for the third-most All-Star selections in league history, trailing legends Sue Bird (13) and Diana Taurasi (11).

In her second season in Seattle following a 12-year run with the Los Angeles Sparks, Ogwumike is averaging 17.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

The WNBA announced Sunday that star players Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx were chosen by a fan vote as the two team captains for the All-Star Game, scheduled for July 19 at the Fever’s arena in Indianapolis. Players and media joined fans in voting for the remaining eight starters.

Joining Clark, Collier and Ogwumike are former league MVPs A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty. Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Dallas Wings, was the only rookie named a starter.

The group also features Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, Fever forward/center Aliyah Boston and Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally.

The first frontcourt player to miss being a starter was Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, who placed fifth in the fan vote among frontcourt players but ranked 12th in both the media and player ballots, according to the league.

The league’s 12 head coaches will vote for 12 All-Star Game reserves, choosing three guards, five frontcourt players and an additional four players at any position (they cannot vote for their own players). The reserves will be announced July 6, then Clark and Collier will draft their teams on July 8.
