Netflix has unveiled the trailer and key art for its poignant new documentary, “Will & Harper. ” The film, directed by Josh Greenbaum, has already made waves at Sundance and Telluride with its heartfelt narrative. It chronicles the journey of actor and comedian Will Ferrell and his longtime best friend, writer Harper Steele.

The story unfolds as Harper, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, bravely comes out and transitions, prompting Will and Harper to embark on a transformative road trip across America.

Both started their careers together at Saturday Night Live in 1995—Will as an actor and Harper as a writer—but their paths diverged as Will soared to superstardom while Harper carved out a distinguished career as the head writer at SNL. Later, Harper became the creative director at Funny or Die and a screenwriter for many of Will’s films.

“Will & Harper” captures their 16-day odyssey from New York to LA, filled with laughter, tears, and countless Pringles cans. As they revisit meaningful locations, they confront their evolving friendship and rediscover America through Harper’s eyes, now living authentically. The documentary promises to explore their deep bond, pushing both friends beyond their comfort zones as they reexamine their connection to each other and the spaces that shaped their lives.
