Washington Commanders owner has been in the news for a while and two different reports indicate that he is facing several battles while looking for a new owner for his NFL team that he has owned since 1999. Some of the problems he is reportedly facing include scrutiny from different fronts such as federal prosecutors as well as a league investigation. His former partners have leveled serious accusations against him and other NFL owners are also said to be angry with him.

On Tuesday morning, ESPN reported that Snyder had taken a $55 million loan reportedly from a leading bank in America. According to documents and interviews, he had not informed minority partners to get their approval for the loan.
The partners also allegedly found out that he had been using team funds for personal use such as “personal yachts” and “multiple residences.” The Commanders’ owner had also obtained $4.5 million as “an advertising fee” for the team logo to appear on his personal jet.
The minority shareholders had taken the team’s dispute to the NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell oversaw the arbitration process and the minority stakeholders sold their shares to Snyder.
Outside lawyer John Brownlee disputed parts of the lengthy ESPN report and said that federal investigators had requested for records pertaining to “customer security deposits and the team’s ticket sales and revenue.”
Earlier on Monday night, according to the Washington Post, Snyder was asking NFL teams and their owners to protect him from legal claims in future, if he sold the team. It also said that this request was considered to be “absurd” by the owners.

The Commanders released a statement saying that the Washington Post’s report was “simply untrue” but didn’t mention how, while the NFL declined to comment on the report.
The outlet also said that Snyder wanted the investigations on him and his Commanders team, led by attorney Mary Jo White, to be kept confidential. The NFL has said that the findings would be publicly released.
