The couple’s vacation to South Carolina was cut short when the woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting her husband at the airport after discovering lewd images on his phone. Paula Barbour violently confronted her husband at Charleston International Airport on Wednesday, according to WCSC. At 2:50 p.m., police responded to an “active domestic” incident and discovered the couple in the midst of an altercation.
The suspect said she just wanted to get away from her husband and fly back home, according to a police incident report obtained by the outlet. According to WCBD, she stated that they had arrived in South Carolina for a vacation, but her mood was soured when she “saw several indecent photos” on his cellphone.
When she confronted him about the saucy snaps, an argument ensued. The man denied being attacked, but surveillance footage allegedly showed his wife kicking his legs, throwing the phone to the ground, and attempting to smack him in the face.
Barbour was arrested after admitting to assaulting him. She was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center and released on a $5,237 bond the next day. It was unclear where the couple had flown from or where they intended to spend quality time together.
