Celebrity rapper DaBaby’s show in New Orleans, on Friday September 2 at the Smoothie King Center has been canceled. A local New Orleans outlet said that low ticket sales were the reason why the show was canceled. The event reportedly saw sales of less than 500 tickets in an arena can hold 14,000 or more and ticket prices were $35. Those who have already bought tickets will be reimbursed.
Although the website Nola reported that the cancelation was due to low sales, others provided different reasons for the cancellation, although none of them disputed the low sales. MAC Agency founder Andrew Lieber issued a statement that said that there had been a “breach of contract” by the promoter. So, the artistic team of DaBaby pulled the New Orleans show. The agency is the artiste’s booking agency, according to the site xxlmag.
Promoters Euell “7th Ward Shorty” Sylvester and Greg Pulwer gave multiple “business reasons” for the cancelation of the celebrity rapper’s upcoming show. According to the site Pulver said that they had decided to postpone the show as it was in their “best interest.” There is a possibility that the promoters could reschedule the show with the addition of other artists. They were asked of DaBaby would be a part of the lineup in a possession rescheduled show, the answer was “most likely, yes.”
DaBaby has been called out for his problematic behavior in the past, according to a report in The New York Post. He had to apologize for a homophobic rant as well as for misogynistic comments, in 2021. In April 2022, he allegedly forced a disinterested fan to kiss him as well faced felony battery charges as a property manager claimed that he suffered serious injuries while trying to shut down a music video that involved the rapper, at his rental property.
DaBaby has a headline slot of Hot 97’s Summer Jam on October 29, in Paris. In November, he will appear at the We Are One Festival to be held on the twelfth of the month in Houston, Texas.
