Celebrity Jennifer Lopez will not perform live this summer. The singer and actress was supposed to perform live after a gap of five years. The North American tour was canceled weeks before it was scheduled to begin. Jennifer Lopez announced the news on Friday in her fan letter called On the JLo, and web fans are disappointed. Many reasons have been put forth for the cancellation, and CWEB reports on them.
The announcement reads, “Representatives for Live Nation announced today that the Jennifer Lopez US Summer 2024 Tour ‘THIS IS ME…LIVE is canceled, citing ‘Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.’”
It also says there would be an automatic refund for tickets purchased on Ticketmaster. Web fans who bought tickets from third-party resales sites have to contact their point of purchase for details on refunds.
The announcement also has a personal message from Jennifer Lopez where the singer/actress says that she is “completely devastated and heartsick” that she is letting down her web fans and said that she would make it up to them and that she “loves” them so much and more.
Ticketing websites have been showing huge numbers of unsold tickets on their platforms, so JLo’s summer tour cancellation does not surprise the media.
There have also been reports of an apparent cooling in Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage, as the couple has not often been seen together in public. The couple, who is called Bennifer, had seen several ups and downs in their two-decade-old relationship before they got married in July 2022. The JLo tour, first called This is Me Now after her latest album was rebranded to This is Me Live, was expected to consist of her full discography and not only songs from her latest album. It was supposed to begin on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, and end in Houston, Texas, on August 31.
