eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY), the popular online marketplace, has chosen a new global media agency. It had been using EssenceMediacom but decided to conduct a formal review earlier in spring 2024. eBay recently said that it has chosen Dentsu’s iProspect as its global media agency.
Earlier this year, eBay reviewed agencies as it transitioned into a bigger global marketplace and focused on “long-term growth goals.” The popular marketplace is moving forward on a “global transformation.” This is why it conducted the review to move from “a decentralized market-based model to a more centralized model that provides global efficiencies.”
eBay said it had chosen iProspect as its global media agency because it could demonstrate its ” passion for its brand and strong operating model” and more.
The company also stated they looked forward to working with iProspect next year and beyond.
They also thanked all the companies who participated in the review process and singled out EssenceMediacom for its longstanding relationship with eBay. They expressed pride in their joint “accomplishments” over the years and more.
COMvergence, an Independent research and data consulting firm, estimates that eBay will spend $350 million in media annually. It projects media agency spending to be about $175, while the rest of the millions would be used for performance marketing, which eBay would handle in-house.
