Celebrity Taylor Swift also had an excellent year as she became a billionaire after her successful Eras Tour and more. Celebrity Beyoncé added hundreds of millions to her wealth following her Renaissance Tour.
According to Forbes ten billionaires added additional billions to their enormous existing wealth and became much richer in 2023 thanks mainly to a tech boom. The top ten list with their net worth through December 15, 2023, according to Forbes is as follows:
Elon Musk
Musk gets his main source of wealth from Tesla and SpaceX. He is reportedly worth $254.9 billion. He added $108.4 billion in 2023 after Tesla saw an over 100 percent increase in share value and SpaceX was valued at $150 billion.
Mark Zuckerberg
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly worth $118.6 billion. Meta saw a revival in value and shares have been up 178 percent. This helped Zuckerberg add $74.8 billion this year.
Jeff Bezos
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is worth $172.3 billion. He added $65 billion in the year as Amazon stock rose by 79 percent.
Prajogo Pangestu
Indonesian business mogul Prajogo Pangestu derives his immense fortune of $52.8 billion from a diversified portfolio of timber, petrochemicals, and coal mining. He saw a jump of $47.9 billion this year after his company went public.
Larry Page
Google founder Larry Page is worth $111.7 billion and saw a rise of $34.4 billion in net worth after parent company Alphabet stock saw a 50 percent increase in value.
Amancio Ortega
Spanish pioneer Amancio Ortega is worth $97.4 billion. Zara stores saw a 57 percent rise with strong demands and record profits adding $33.2 billion to his fortune in 2023.
Sergey Brin
The cofounder of Google Sergey Brin is worth $107.3 billion. He added $33 billion to his fortune this year as parent Alphabet continues to rise in value thanks to AI.
Steve Ballmer
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer is worth $110.9 billion. He added $32.4 billion to his uber wealth due to a 55 percent increase in the value of Microsoft stock as well as his NBA team Los Angeles Clippers whose worth saw an additional 19 percent increase this year.
Larry Ellison
The Oracle chief technology officer is worth $133.2 billion. His fortune rose by $30.8 billion as Oracle shares rose by 26 percent in 2023.
Jensen Huang
Cofounder and CEO of Nvidia Jensen Huang is worth $43.6 billion. His wealth increased by $29.8 billion as chip maker Nvidia’s stock rose by over 230 percent in 2023.
