Forbes has released its World’s Billionaires List for 2022 and some of our favorite celebrities have made it on the prestigious list for the first time, while old timers have returned for another year at the top. The newest entrant who made her debut is none other than 34-year old Rihanna. Returning celebrities Kanye West, Jay-Z and Kim Kardashian also join her on the list.
Forbes magazine calls Rihanna a freshman billionaire and the world’s richest female musician. She is the first person to reach the list from her home country of Barbados. She reached the billionaire milestone in September 2021 due to her luxury beauty line Fenty; in collaboration with LVMH.
The magazine said that the singer’s Fenty Beauty cosmetics line as well as her Savage X Fenty lingerie line were the impetus behind her billionaire status. The 34-year old singer and businesswoman’s net worth has been declared as $1.7 billion. Her rank in the world is #1,729.
The second celebrity who has made his debut in the Forbes annual worldwide billionaires list is director Peter Jackson of the “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” films fame. Forbes puts his net worth at $1.5 billion and his number is #1929 on the list.

Director Steven Spielberg–#801 with $3.7 billion
Host Oprah Winfrey–#1,196 with $2.6 billion
Rapper Ye (Kanye West)–#1,513 with $2 billion
Skims founder Kim Kardashian–#1,615 with $1.8 billion
Rapper Jay-Z–#2,076 with $1.3 billion
Actor Tyler Perry–#2,578 with $1 billion.
Forbes has said that there are 2,668 billionaires around the world, in 2022. Their combined net worth is $12.7 trillion. The number of billionaires has fallen from 2021 due to the recent sanctions on Russian oligarchs. Elon Musk remains as the No. 1 billionaire in the world with a net worth of $219 billion, followed by Jeff Bezos at No. 2 with $171 billion and LVMH owner Bernard Arnault at No.3 with 158 billion. Bill Gates is at No.4 with $129 million and Warren Buffet is at No. 5 with $118 billion.
