Review of Apple’s “Where’s Wanda?”

Apple’s first German-language series, Where’s Wanda?, will premiere on October 2, 2024. It is a dark comedy that expertly mixes tension, humor, and the deeply unsettling world of suburban secrets.

At its core, the show follows Dedo and Carlotta Klatt, whose lives are upended when their 17-year-old daughter, Wanda, goes missing. After months of fruitless searching by the police, the family takes matters into their own hands, enlisting the help of their tech-savvy son, Ole.

What sets Where’s Wanda? Apart is its clever use of satire. The Klatts, posing as employees of an electrical company, begin bugging their entire neighborhood in an obsessive quest for answers. They uncover a web of deception—neighbors hiding dark, comedic secrets behind closed doors. The series skillfully balances this absurdity with the more severe undertones of loss and desperation.

With its sharp script, Where’s Wanda? Will captivate viewers who appreciate dark humor and social commentary wrapped in an engaging mystery. Expect a compelling mix of quirky characters, emotional depth, and a look at how far one family will go to uncover the truth.

This movie is a Webfans must see.
