As the markets and millions of consumers wait for the launch of an iPad Pro with the M2 chip, Apple has not as yet made a formal announcement. However, analysts always guess the launch date or hear from sources familiar with the matter and propose a launch date, before the announcement is made by the Cupertino giant. This year the iPad Pro is expected to be launched on October 24, while the new Macs are expected to arrive weeks later, in November.
Mark Gurman, an Apple analyst at Bloomberg Business News said that Apple will announce the launch of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPads, which have the codenames J617 and J620 in the next few days, with October 24 being the most likely date of the launch. The iPads are expected to have the same M2 chips that will be present in the newest MacBook Air.
According to the outlet, the M2 chip in the new iPad Pro will process information 20 percent faster. It will also look similar to the Pro model that was launched last year, including its flat edge design for the fourth year.
Apple is also expected to release its first iPad version of iOS16 called iOS16.1, in the week of October 24. These are the expected releases, if everything goes to plan.
Apple could also launch an entry level tablet with a USB-C port. It is expected to have a design that will be similar to the iPad Pro. The new low-end iPad might mark a strategy shift for the tech giant.
Apple’s quarterly earnings call is expected to take place on October 27, 2022. The Cupertino giant generally launches new products weeks or days before the call. So, a launch of the new iPad Pro and the new operating system is expected to take place in the next few days before the quarterly earnings call.
