What are the amenities at Google as workers are back to office

Google is getting ready to welcome its workers back to the office. The tech giant is known to offer a whole list of perks and many employees complained that they missed these amenities when they were at work from home mode due to the raging pandemic. However, as many employees return to the office three days a week, after a gap of two years, they will get back many of these perquisites.

Google is looking at a hybrid model for employees to return to the office for part of the week. Many of their workers are waiting to get back the facilities they missed but some still prefer the option of working remotely.

Google Real Estate and Workplace Services VP David Radcliffe emailed employees saying that some rules on vaccines, testing, wearing masks and social distancing would be relooked at including the necessity of vaccines for U.S. workers, which was mandatory, earlier.

Earlier in January, workers who were vaccinated were also expected to take tests due to the surge of Covid cases due to the omicron variant. Most vaccinated employees need not practice social distancing or wear masks, in certain areas. The company noted that although mask wearing was still prevalent in some cities, the practice was likely to be scrapped in the near future.

Although Google still believes that its vaccination policy keeps its employees safe, unvaccinated employees will be allowed to return to office with certain conditions that would include testing and wearing of masks, according to Radcliffe’s mail.

Google has also made note of the fact that its employees missed all the fancy perks available at its headquarters as well as several offices in the San Francisco Bay Area; so, it will once again provide the following amenities when workers return to office. They include

fitness centers without appointment
massages
full shuttle services
additional places for free breakfast and lunch
opening of informal spaces such as lounges, game rooms, music rooms and more.

Although Google has not mandated a return to office date, Radcliffe said that his team was planning “celebrations” as it welcomed back employees to office.
